About Me – No Really, LOOK HERE!!

HOLY CRIMINIES! My About Me page was 12 years old! 

I am still Merry Khaos. I am still Kristie Grey. I have been playing derby since 2009, coaching since 2011, officiating since 2014, announcing since 2016. I’ve played for Harrisburg Area, Dutchland, Charm City, Tampa, Team Maryland, and Divergence Roller Derby. Past sponsors have included Roller Derby Elite, Steaks Wear, As the Bearing Turns Skate Shop, Rock Tape, and The F0ld. 

My life is very different than it was in 2009. I have been through the ups and downs and growing pains of life. Roller derby DID save my soul – got me back to school, got me to recognize my mental health needs, got me to look at myself beyond my body weight, showed me that love doesn’t have to adhere to a strict societal expectation, and above all has introduced me to so many cultures and people to expand my world view and help me become a better person.

When I started I was a kid with no direction. Now I am a sommelier, have worked post season events for MRDA, WFTDA, and JRDA. I have helped build Divergence Roller Derby. I got married to Pete in the Pool. I moved home to Pennsylvania. I’m learning to adjust my expectations from high level PLAYING to high level MENTORSHIP.

Many of the pieces on this page are older, but still relevant! I’m excited to meet a whole new generation of players through this medium. Let’s take on the derbyverse together, and let’s do it with smiles.
